2011 Lamborghini suv Review

Lamborghini car maker has unveiled new sportcar named it’s Lamborghini SUV Conquisto. 2012 Lamborghini SUV Conquisto has be designed by David Cardoso from Belgian. The Conquisto combines the ruggedness of the LM and agility of the Gallardo.

The LM200 is the monster Lambo which was the only SUV Lamborghini ever built. The company’s focus since then has been only on manufacturing cars like Gallardo and Murceilago and they’ve never spared a though for a successor of this iconic SUV.

Imagined the Belgian David Cardoso desaigner for Lamborghini SUV Conquisto be a sporty SUV with two seats, with elements visibly inspired by the athlete Lamborghini Gallardo or Murcielago. In fact, Conquisto looks like a Gallardo simply transofrmed in a SUV, with central engine and with the same door-opening system.

Lamborghini SUV New Style

Last month the internet was on fire after Auto Express started to spread a rumor about the revival of the Lamborghini LM002. However, as we noted in our article, the story sounded a bit off. For a proper Lambo SUV, the Audi Q5 platform would be too small, a V8 engine not noble enough and the £100,000 (US $156,080) price tag a tad low. That’s why we didn't put much credence in the rumor.

It turns out we were right to take it with a grain of salt as Lamborghini CEO, Stephan Winkelmann, told British magazine Autocar that the Italian maker would give the green light to a four-door saloon inspired by the Estoque concept car.

“We have opportunities outside the supercar business, and we showed that with Estoque,” said Winkelmann. “It had a more enthusiastic response than we had expected. It was the right time to see if the brand could go outside of supercars. Even now, people are still emailing me about us making the Estoque”.

Mr. Winkelmann admitted that Lamborghini had only two choices for the third car of its lineup: a four-seat four-door and an SUV. But the latter doesn’t exist in the makers price segment and “it’s not a real luxury car”.

If something like the Estoque is going to be produced, the famous Italian automaker expects to attract new customers to the brand by being a more practical car. “If we are going to offer a third model, it could be a ‘first’ car, bringing people to our brand” Winkelmann concluded.

Volkswagen has serious plans for its market share here in North America. The automaker hopes to sell 800,000 cars per year in the United States by the year 2018, and it's vehicles like the refreshed 2011 Jetta and this, the all-new 2012 Passat, that will be the bread-winners moving forward.

If your first thought about the Passat's design is "big Jetta," you aren't alone. The last-generation Passat wasn't exactly a looker, but at least it stood out within Volkswagen's lineup. The new Passat honestly and truly looks like a longer, wider, taller Jetta, and the nondescript design language makes it look extremely unforgettable. It isn't bad looking, but it doesn't spark any emotion within us.

Much like the Jetta, the Passat gets a much lower price point for the 2012 model year – base pricing is expected to start around $20,000 when the car goes on sale later this year, some $8,000 below the 2011 model it replaces. Both five- and six-cylinder gasoline engines will be available, as well as a 2.0-liter diesel inline-four (the same engine we enjoy in the Golf and Jetta currently). Interior quality is much better than the dumbed down cabin of the Jetta, though we'd still like slightly more refinement, especially considering how good the interiors of $20K competitors are these days.

We've just returned from checking out the 2012 Passat live at the Detroit Auto Show, so scroll through our high-res gallery of live shots below to see the new car for yourself.
